About Folder Organizer

Letting an AI tidy your files is useful right up until it deletes the wrong thing. This plugin is built so that cannot happen.

/tidy-plan looks at a folder (Downloads, Desktop, or a Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive folder) and writes a table of proposed moves and light renames to a plan file. It changes nothing else. You can read and edit the plan. /tidy-apply shows a dry run and only moves files after you reply yes. It never overwrites, and it logs every move. /undo-tidy reads that log and puts everything back.

/find-duplicates finds identical files even when their names differ. It compares size, then a content hash, then every byte, and suggests which copy to keep. Extra copies and empty files go to a _review folder for you to check and delete yourself.

While the plugin is enabled, a safety hook blocks Bash and PowerShell commands that delete files (rm, del, Remove-Item, rmdir, find -delete, git clean and more) and tells Claude to move them to _review instead. It is tested on 38 sample commands.

Inside: four commands, a skill with the sorting and naming rules, a Node.js helper for scanning, duplicates, apply and undo, the hook, and a sample messy folder with the output of every command.

Limits: it sorts by name, type, size and date, not by what is inside files. The hook cannot see inside script files, and it applies to all your Claude Code work while the plugin is enabled.
