About Research Brief Agent

When a decision depends on a mix of articles, reports, call notes and internal data, the usual summary hides the important parts: which claims are well supported, which come from a vendor with something to sell, and what nobody actually knows yet.

This agent kit turns a question and your sources into a short, decision-ready brief. It puts the answer first with an overall confidence level, then lists key findings, each with a High, Medium or Low confidence level, citations and the evidence behind it. It shows where sources disagree and why, lists the gaps that matter, recommends next steps with owners and dates, and ends with a source table (type, date, reliability) and an evidence matrix so anyone can check the reasoning.

It never cites a source it wasn't given or didn't open. Links it can't load are listed as not opened, and anything missing from your sources becomes a gap, not a finding.

Inside: the agent instructions, a source reliability rubric, a claim-evidence matrix guide, a brief template, conversation starters, a Claude Code subagent that works on a folder of files, and a full worked example.

For founders, managers, analysts and consultants who need to make or recommend a call from mixed evidence.

Limitations: it's only as good as the sources you give it. It can't open paywalled pages or scanned PDFs without text, and it only browses on platforms that offer browsing. For medical, legal or financial decisions, it summarizes sources and isn't professional advice.
