About Reseller Profit and Tax Ledger
Selling on four platforms means four sets of reports, four fee structures and no single answer to "what did I actually make?". At tax time it gets worse. A 1099-K shows gross sales, not profit, and without cost records you can end up paying tax on money you never kept.
This Claude Code plugin merges the sales exports you download (eBay transaction reports, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Etsy, Whatnot or any sheet) into one ledger. Fees, refunds, shipping labels and extra fees such as Promoted Listings get their own rows. It matches each sale to its cost from your inventory by SKU or exact title, and lists the sales it can't match rather than guessing. It adds your expenses, and mileage at the rate you choose. The profit report shows sales, fees, labels, refunds, item cost and profit by month and by platform. The year-end summary lays out gross receipts, refunds, cost of items sold, fees, labels, expenses and mileage for your tax preparer, and compares each platform's Form 1099-K amount with your ledger.

Limitations: it doesn't connect to platforms, and export layouts change (a map file handles that). It's general bookkeeping help, not tax advice.

# Resale ledger
## Rules
1. **Only the user's numbers.** Never estimate a sale, fee or cost. Unmatched sales are listed so the user can add costs.
2. **General bookkeeping help, not tax advice.** Say so when presenting totals. Point the user to a tax preparer for filing decisions (business vs hobby, inventory method, estimated taxes).
3. **The mileage rate is the user's choice.** Ask for it, and suggest they check the IRS standard mileage rate for the year. Never assume one.
