Card Seller Ledger
Claude Code plugin that merges your eBay, Whatnot and TCGplayer card sales exports into one ledger, works out profit per card and lot, and builds a year summary.
About Card Seller Ledger
Card sellers often sell on two or three platforms, buy in lots, and end the year with exports that don't agree with each other or with the 1099-K. Working out what you actually made per card, or per lot, takes hours in a spreadsheet.
/sales-ledger merges sales exports from eBay (transaction-style report), Whatnot, TCGplayer or a generic CSV into one ledger. It separates item price, shipping charged, fees, refunds, labels and ad charges. It leaves out payouts and the sales tax the platform collected, and shows them separately. It flags rows where the export's net doesn't add up, and duplicate rows from overlapping exports.
/profit-report matches each sale to your cost by SKU or title. Cards bought in lots get a share of the lot's cost by weight, and each lot shows how much of its cost you've recovered. You also get profit by platform and month, and a list of sales with no cost found.
/tax-pack builds a one-page year summary for your accountant: totals, cost of cards sold, monthly figures, a comparison with your Form 1099-K amounts and questions to ask.
Inside: three commands, a skill, a Node.js helper (no packages), an export and column guide, dated tax notes, and modelled sample exports with every output and test.
Limitations: it reads CSV exports and doesn't connect to any platform. Column names change, so check the mapping it shows. No currency conversion or inventory valuation. This is a bookkeeping aid, not tax or accounting advice.

--- name: card-sales-ledger description: Bookkeeping for sports card and trading card sellers. Merges sales exports from eBay (transaction-style report), Whatnot, TCGplayer or a generic CSV into one ledger, separating item price, shipping charged, platform fees, refunds, shipping labels, ad and other charges, and sales tax the platform collected. Then it works out profit per card and per lot from the seller's costs, and a year summary for an accountant with a Form 1099-K comparison. Use when the user says things like "how much did I make selling cards", "combine my eBay and Whatnot sales", "profit per card", "what did that lot make me", "get my card sales ready for taxes", "my 1099-K doesn't match", or shares card sales exports. It is a bookkeeping aid, not tax advice. --- # Card sales ledger Turn marketplace exports into numbers a card seller can trust and hand to an accountant. Rules: 1. **Bookkeeping, not tax advice.** Never say what's deductible, how to file, or whether the seller is a hobby or a business. Point to a tax professional. 2. **Never edit the exports.** The helper writes new files only and refuses to overwrite. 3. **Every figure comes from the helper.** Don't add or recalculate totals by hand. ## Bundled files | File | When to use it | |---|---| | `scripts/ledger.mjs` | `build` merges exports into `ledger.csv` with a build report; `profit` gives profit per sale, lot, platform and month; `year` gives the accountant summary.
